WHY YOU'LL REACH FOR IT

Diana is one of three handmade chain necklaces I created from satin gold-plated links in different shapes—diamond, round, and oval. I wanted to make my own interpretation of the chunky chain choker I've been seeing everywhere, and Diana quickly became the boldest of the three. Those oversized diamond-shaped links give her a strong geometric presence that makes her just as interesting worn alone as layered with beads.

• The diamond-shaped links are what give Diana her personality. Each satin gold-plated connector is joined by hand, creating a chain that feels bold and graphic without becoming heavy-looking.
• Of the three necklaces in this little trilogy, Diana makes the strongest statement. I love the scale of those diamonds and the way their angular shapes immediately catch the eye.
• I chose our boldest toggle to finish the necklace. Its generous scale balances the larger links beautifully, while the matching satin gold finish keeps the entire design wonderfully cohesive.
• At 17 inches, Diana sits right where I wanted her at the neckline. I especially love a shorter beaded necklace nestled just above her—the contrast between colorful, organic beads and those clean geometric links makes both necklaces more interesting.
